You've just accurately described my ideological position and internal struggle since I first properly perceived the human plane.

The equation is simple. The majority of humans are good people. On the whole, good people do not seek power or dominion over others. Those that do mainly do so for the wrong reasons, and are usually sociopaths.

Add to the mix a carefully controlled media, a worsening education system, ethnic tensions, imposed austerity, historical enmity, etc. and those otherwise good people are all too easily swayed. Divide and conquer, and keep cashing the cheques.

It is a fool's hope, but there is no other position to hold. Love (in a non-dualistic, non-airy fairy way) is the very vibration of the universe. I know this to be true for I have felt it deeply many times. My heart breaks for this world whilst understanding it as a crucible for awareness. This is not spiritual bypassing. For the suffering of others is a serious business that must be taken seriously, but I have to exercise healthy detachment otherwise my tears would not cease and I would be little good to those who need my immediate help.
