You smashed it with this article. As a millennial, I remember being pretty into conspiracies. Whether they were true or not, or bad for my health (which a lot of them were) you could find all sorts of unmitigated sources on stuff.

9/11 is a key one. I remember searching 9/11 conspiracy on YouTube back in the day and all sorts of evidence-backed, well-researched vids would appear (with some bad one as well, of course). Now when you search it, it’s all mainstream news stories.

Scary huh?

Regardless of whether you buy the official story or not, the degree of power and control over information being exercised here is worrying.

Same with Google. I remember if you searched "Architects and Engineers for 9/11 truth" it used to bring up their official website. Now it just brings up a wiki article.

Sorry to go ham over 9/11. The issue isn’t necessarily one’s views on the subject, but the power these massive tech corps have.

Incidentally, there was recently a revolution in Kazakhstan. The narrative being promulgated by the media is that it was a result of rising gas prices. Everything you search for on YouTube reinforces this narrative. Rising gas prices could have very well been a component, but is that the full picture? Food for thought.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your article. It was instructive in terms of how to sustain the engagement of the average reader on this platform.
