I might also add that lower case is nothing new when it comes to poetry. In many ways I believe it suits the medium. But other than that (and Twitter) it tends to feel a bit out of place. Perhaps that's just down to conditioning. In a way like the reactionary attitude to evolving gender terminology. Whatever the case may be, I'll likely never get used to a lower case letter directly after a full stop!
