Interestingly, while I know firsthand the links between what the DSM-V calls "schizophrenia" or "psychosis" (I don't agree with the current diagnostic model) I also believe in the legalisation of all drugs.

There is enough data that shows criminalization has zero benefits (too much to go into here).

I think cannabis can have amazing benefits (too many to list here) but there also needs to be more awareness raised regarding the connection between abuse of high-THC strains (especially in young people) and the onset of debilitating symptoms.

The cannabis a lot of young people smoke today has a much higher THC content (the psychotic component) and virtually no CBD (the anti-psychotic component).

So it really matters when you smoke (before your brain is fully developed), what you smoke (the chemical structure of the cannabis), and who is smoking (genetic predispotiion, etc.).

Sorry for the long comment. I obviously feel strongly about this topic!
