I recently tore through "The Broken Earth Trilogy" and it was utterly brilliant. N.K. Jemisen breathes new life into a genre that's all too often saturated with tropes and clichés. It's dark, gritty, morally complex, and has world-building that doesn't hold the reader's hand. Strongly recommend!
